Terms of service

Heads up: founder-written placeholder — not substitute for legal review. Sections marked for Saro swap before App Store / Play submission.
The service
Eatcircle is a pickup-only marketplace connecting verified home cooks with nearby buyers in Canada. We are not a restaurant, not a ghost kitchen operator, and not a delivery company.
Accounts
For v2.0 we expect you to be 18+, have a valid Canadian phone number for OTP, and honestly represent who you are. One person, one buyer identity — don't game reviews.
Conduct
No harassment, no fraud, no off-platform payment tricks that put cooks or buyers at risk. We use a strike system for serious issues — details live in the trust & safety report.
Cook responsibilities
You are responsible for food safety, honest listings, allergen honesty, and honoring pickup windows you accept. If you cannot fulfill an order, cancel early and communicate — buyers plan dinner around you.
Payments
Eatcircle facilitates checkout; Stripe processes cards. Refund disputes follow support flows in the app — we bias toward buyer safety without letting the platform be weaponized.
Liability
Marketplace boilerplate goes here: caps on indirect damages, no warranty that dinner will change your life, etc. Counsel fills in the numbers.
Disputes · governing law
Ontario law. Arbitration clause and venue — lawyer to finalize wording consistent with mobile app clickwrap.
Termination & changes
We can suspend accounts that endanger the community. We will post material term changes here and nudge active users in-app — you keep using it after the effective date, you accept the update.
